Emmanuel de la Brosse, founder and manager of IP Board, has worked for more than 25 years in the field of intellectual property both as an external and in-house IP Counsel. He started his career with the IP firm Markplus International in Paris and is a fully qualified French Intellectual Property Counsel. He then joined the IP firm Tmark Conseils, dealing with trademark oppositions in France and the European Union as well as other trademark and design related issues including litigation, notably obtaining well known trademark status and high financial compensation for the client. Thereafter, he joined the IP Department of the Richemont luxury goods group at their Head Office in Geneva Switzerland. As a Lead Advisor, he was in charge of several brands within the Richemont group and played a management role within the IP Department. Working in close collaboration with marketing, communications, design, research and development departments and the companies’ top management, he developed a strategic and business oriented approach with regard to IP issues. Through frequent contact with external IP law firms, he identified the needs and constraints of an international in-house IP Department and what services should be proposed by these IP law firms to be really useful to clients. Clearly businesses need more than IP expertise in court proceedings. They need an efficient partner capable of understanding the issues and proposing a strategic vision as well as useful reporting tools.
